System Requirements #
Operating System #
- Windows XP
- Windows VISTA
- Windows Small Business Server 2003-2016
- Compatible with all major networks
Note: For 2-3 users, a Peer-to-Peer Network is sufficient. Larger networks (NT or Novell) require a dedicated server.
Internet Connection #
An internet connection is required to receive software updates.
Computer Hardware #
- Minimum: IBM-PC 486 or better
- Recommended: Pentium or similar configuration with at least 350 MHz processor
- One free USB port
- Memory (RAM):
- Single user: 128 MB
- Network server: 192+ MB
Tip: To check your computer’s memory, right-click on “My Computer” and select “Properties.”
Printer #
- Laser printer with MICR capability
- Recommended memory: 4-8 MB for average payrolls (more may be required for large payrolls)
Note: Paysoft can provide a list of suitable printers upon request.
Blank Check Stock #
Pro-Pay uses blank check stock to print payroll checks for all clients. This eliminates the need for separate checks for each client.

MICR Toner #
MICR toner is essential for printing checks that can be processed by high-speed bank scanners.
