Installing and Configuring Pro-Pay on an RDP Server #

Prerequisites #

Before beginning the installation process, ensure you have:

  • Administrative access to your RDP server
  • A local PC with Windows operating system
  • Stable internet connection

Installation Steps #

1. Install Pro-Pay on the RDP Server #

If Pro-Pay is not already installed on your RDP server, follow these steps:

  1. Refer to the Pro-Pay Help topic: “Network Installation”
  2. Follow the instructions provided to complete the installation

2. Install pdf995 on the RDP Server #

The pdf995 printer driver is essential for Pro-Pay functionality when running via an RDP connection.

  1. Refer to the Pro-Pay help topic: “Download and Install the pdf995 driver”
  2. Follow the instructions to install pdf995 on your RDP server

Note: Installing pdf995 on your local PC is not necessary when running Pro-Pay via an RDP connection.

RDP Connection Setup #

Create a Remote Desktop Shortcut on Your Local PC #

  1. Click on Windows Start > Windows Accessories > Remote Desktop
  2. Enter the Computer Name or IP address of your RDP server
  3. Enter the username for the RDP connection
  4. Select the devices and resources you want to use in your remote session
  5. Make your local C: drive available in the RDP session
  6. Save the connection shortcut to your desktop

Connect to the RDP Server #

  1. Click on the RDP shortcut you created on your local PC
  2. This will establish a connection to your RDP server

Printer Configuration #

Select Printers for Use with Pro-Pay #

  1. After connecting to the RDP server, start Pro-Pay
  2. Navigate to Client Functions > Setup > System Setup > Printers

a. Select Checks and Reports Printer(s) #

  • If redirecting reports or checks to a user’s local printer, ensure the same printer driver is installed on the RDP server
  • Example: If a Canon LBP7750 is installed on the local PC, install the same printer driver on the RDP server

b. Configure PDF Printer #

  • Ensure the pdf995 printer is installed on the RDP server
  • When selecting the PDF File printer, choose the pdf995 installed on the server, not the redirected one

Troubleshooting #

If you encounter issues during the installation or configuration process, try the following:

  1. Verify all prerequisites are met
  2. Double-check that pdf995 is correctly installed on the RDP server
  3. Ensure printer drivers on the RDP server match those on the local PC for redirected printing
  4. Review the additional resources provided for more detailed troubleshooting steps
