This knowledge base article provides step-by-step instructions for re-exporting Direct Deposits and Tax Impounds files in ProPay after they have been purged. This process is necessary when you need to regenerate these files for any reason after the initial export and purge have occurred.

Re-exporting Direct Deposits File #
Follow these steps to re-export an already purged Direct Deposits file:
- Ensure all users are logged out of ProPay.
- Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder containing your payroll files (typically \PAYSOFT\PROPAY20).
- Locate the file PRDEPOS.DBF and rename it to PRDEPOS_YYYYMMDD.DBF (e.g., PRDEPOS_20231130.DBF), where YYYYMMDD is today’s date in Year-Month-Day format.
- Rename the file DIRBACK.DBF to PRDEPOS.DBF.
- Run the file DELCDX.BAT to rebuild the indexes.
- Start PAY2025.exe.
- Navigate to Client Functions > Electr Proc > Direct Deposits.
- Select “Export” to re-export the file.
Re-exporting Tax Impounds File #
Follow these steps to re-export an already purged Tax Impounds file:
- Ensure all users are logged out of ProPay.
- Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder containing your payroll files (typically \PAYSOFT\PROPAY20).
- Locate the file PRACHTAX.DBF and rename it to PRACHTAX_YYYYMMDD.DBF (e.g., PRACHTAX_20231130.DBF), where YYYYMMDD is today’s date in Year-Month-Day format.
- Rename the file ACHBACK.DBF to PRACHTAX.DBF.
- Run the file DELCDX.BAT to rebuild the indexes.
- Start PAY2025.exe.
- Navigate to Client Functions > Electr Proc > Tax Impounds.
- Select “Export” to re-export the file.
