Welcome to the ProPay Client Menu Overview. This article provides comprehensive information about the first menu you encounter after selecting a client and verifying the pay date in our ProPay payroll software. This menu contains essential information specific to the selected client.
Menu Layout and Key Features #
Client Information #
- Client Name: Displayed in the upper center part of the screen
- Phone Number: Located below the client name
Tax Information #
- State: Indicates the applicable State tax tables being used for this client
- Local 1: Shows any applicable Local tax tables being used for this client
- Local 2: Displays additional Local tax tables, if applicable
Employee and Paycheck Data #
- Employees: Indicates the number of active and inactive employees
- Paychecks: Shows the number of paychecks from the beginning of the year
- Pay Date: Displays the currently selected pay date
Common User Queries #
Q1: How do I change the selected client? #
A1: To change the selected client, you need to exit the current client menu and return to the client selection screen. From there, you can choose a different client.
Q2: Can I update the client’s phone number from this menu? #
A2: No, the client menu is for viewing purposes only. To update client information, you’ll need to access the client management section of ProPay.
Q3: Why are there two Local tax fields? #
A3: Some clients may be subject to multiple local taxes. Local 1 and Local 2 allow for the display of up to two different local tax tables applicable to the client.
Troubleshooting #
Issue: Incorrect State or Local Tax Tables #
If you notice that the State or Local tax tables displayed are incorrect:
- Double-check that you’ve selected the correct client
- Verify the client’s address information in the client management section
- Ensure that the tax tables in the system are up-to-date

Issue: Employee Count Discrepancy #
If the number of employees displayed doesn’t match your records:
- Review the employee list to ensure all employees are correctly marked as active or inactive
