Paying Garnishment Electronically #
Overview #
This knowledge base article provides information about the current status and future implementation of electronic garnishment payments in Pro-Pay. At present, paying garnishments electronically is not supported in Pro-Pay. However, we are working on implementing this feature for specific deduction types.
Current Status #
Paying garnishment electronically is not currently supported in Pro-Pay.
Upcoming Implementation #
We are working on implementing electronic payments for the following deduction types:
- Third Party Payments (TPP)
- Child Support Payments (DED)
Important Note #
Before proceeding with any electronic garnishment payments, it is crucial to read the instructions provided by the Garnishing Agency. These instructions will specify which type of payment and which Addenda Record format is required.
Deduction Types and Addenda Records #
1. Third Party Payment (TPP) Record #
The TPP Addenda Record includes the following fields:
- TPP01: Tax Payment Type Code
- TPP02: Reference ID (Third party originator)
- TPP03: Date
- TPP04: Amount
- TPP05: Reference ID (Taxpayer)
- TPP06: Name (Taxpayer)
- TPP07: Reference ID (Secondary)

2. Child Support Addenda (DED) Record #
The DED Addenda Record includes the following fields:
- DED01: Application Identifier
- DED02: Case Identifier
- DED03: Pay Date
- DED04: Payment Amount
- DED05: Non-Custodial Parent Social Security Number
- DED06: Medical Support Indicator
- DED07: Non-Custodial Parent Name
- DED08: FIPS Code
- DED09: Employment Termination Indicator

How to Use This Information #
While electronic garnishment payments are not currently supported in Pro-Pay, this information will be valuable when the feature is implemented. Keep the following in mind:
- Stay updated on Pro-Pay releases for information about when this feature becomes available.
- Familiarize yourself with the different deduction types and their respective Addenda Records.
- Always refer to the Garnishing Agency’s instructions to determine the correct payment type and Addenda Record format.
