Installation Process #
Prerequisites #
- A server PC with sufficient memory and a fast processor
- Administrative privileges on the server PC
Step 1: Create and Share the Payroll Folder #
- Log in to the server PC as Administrator or with administrative privileges.
- Create a new folder named “Payroll”.
- Right-click the folder and select “Properties”.
- In the Sharing tab, click “Share this Folder”.
- Set the shared name as “Payroll”.
- Click “Permissions” and grant “Change” and “Read” permissions to “Everyone”.
- In the Security tab, set appropriate permissions for users who need access to Pro-Pay files.
Step 2: Map the Network Drive #
For Windows 10: #
- Open File Explorer.
- Click on “This PC” in the left pane.
- Click on “Map network drive” in the Computer tab.
- Choose a drive letter and browse to the shared Payroll folder.
- Click “Finish” to complete the mapping.
For Windows 11: #
- Open File Explorer from the toolbar.
- Select “This PC” from the left pane.
- Click “More” and select “Map network drive”.
- Choose a drive letter and enter the path to the shared Payroll folder.
- Check “Reconnect at sign-in” for persistent connection.
- Click “Finish” to complete the mapping.
Step 3: Install Pro-Pay Software #
For First-Time Installation: #
- Download Pro-Pay from https://Paysoft.com/download/PROPAYXX.exe
- Extract the downloaded file to a temporary folder.
- Run the installation, selecting the mapped network drive as the target.
- Enter the license code when prompted upon first launch.
For Transferring Existing Installation: #
- Copy the Paysoft folder from the old computer to the new computer’s Payroll folder.
- Ensure the folder structure is correct (e.g., C:\payroll\Paysoft\PROPAYXX).
Troubleshooting #

- Unable to install license code:
- Temporarily disable antivirus software and firewall.
- Retry license code installation.
